.:Loose Teeth:.

The offender:

The damage (look closely, the two bottom middle teeth are both tweaked):

The verdict:

Still happy. (Doesn't she totally look like Gray in this picture???)

(Technically, I don't know if the teeth are loose. But they are definitely moved.)

If this was going to happen to either of our girls, I would have put my money on Reece, not little Rem!

.:More funnies with Reece:.

Me: Pick out what color of sticker you want.
Reece: I want color pee pee.
Can you tell we've talked about what color pee pee is?

I got after Reece for doing something the other day, and she said, "Mom, chill out!"

When I was tucking her into bed the other nite, we did our usual hug and kiss. Then I blew her a kiss and told her that I loved her. As I was closing the door, I hear, "Peace out!"

Whenever Reece doesn't want to do something that I ask her to do, she says, "Your turn."

We had about five days of decent weather, and Josh took Reece to the slide and swings. Now, just about everyday, she asks if we can go to the "slide and wings."

.:Round Three:.

APRIL 14th, 2011

Wow. Pregnant. Again! And on accident. Again! I'd been feeling a little off for the past week or so, and noticed that I wasn't finishing my Diet Coke. May sound silly, but that's really unusual for me! Combine that with a bloody nose yesterday, and throwing up the this morning and I figured that I better see what was going on. I was so surprised to see those two lines! And to be perfectly honest, scared. We weren't quite planning to get pregnant this soon. There is a lot up in the air, and we weren't thinking of trying until the summer. I feel like I've got my hands full most of the time with Reece and Remi, anyway, so I was okay waiting a little bit longer. I'm not quite sure how it happened - I was on birth control again, and still nursing! But I guess this baby is supposed to come! Bring on the usual rounds of bloodwork!

APRIL 15th, 2011

I had my bloodwork today. I'm still pregnant! The nurse said my levels are high enough for an ultrasound, so I don't have to do a repeat draw. I've got the ultrasound scheduled for Monday morning. Hope everything looks okay!

APRIL 18th, 2011

We saw the baby today! And that flashing little heartbeat. It never gets old, really! Everything checked out great, and I am measuring at 7 weeks 3 days. According to the ultrasound, my due date is December 2nd. So crazy! My first appointment is on May 5th. Now where's my 7up....

APRIL 25th, 2011

Ugh. The nausea. Someone make it stop, please.

APRIL 28th, 2011

I am so ready to start telling people about this baby. I have to catch myself from saying things all the time. My plan, if Josh agrees, is to tell families on Mother's Day. I'll be 10 weeks then, and will already have had my first appointment. If my doctor follows suite from last time, we should have another cute little picture of the baby to share. What better gift could we give our moms for Mother's Day, anyway?

Feeling okay today. I've been surprised with how tired I've been. I nap at least every other day, and sometimes more frequently than that. Not eating makes me feel nauseous, eating makes me feel nauseous - it's lose lose. I'm already starting to pooch a little bit. It happened this early with Remi, too. Looking nice and chubby, not pregnant. Awesome.

MAY 4th, 2011

Definitely pooching. Still not looking pregnant, but there's a belly there; just looks like I ate too many oreos or something.

The nausea hasn't been as bad lately, but the fatigue definitely has. And I haven't been having my naps because I watch my friends' baby during the day, so there's usually at least one kid awake all afternoon. I'm totally wiped out by about 4:00-4:30, but at least I sleep well at nite.

Can't wait for my appointment tomorrow!

MAY 5th, 2011

I had my appointment today! My doctor gave me a big hug when she first came in. She is so happy and excited for us, and she was surprised to see me back in there so soon! I had just been in for my yearly a few weeks earlier and told her that we'd probably be back in the summer with a new pregnancy. Little did either of us know that I was already pregnant at the time! She really is just the greatest; I adore her.

All we did was go over some of the information in my little goodie bag that I got, and then she did an ultrasound. Baby was reclining in there, looking so cute! Baby was measuring about two days ahead of where I'm at, so my due date will remain the same: December 2nd. She also let me hear the heartbeat, which never gets old. She sent me home with a cute little picture of our babe to share with Josh and everyone else.

After that, it was off to get about six vials of blood drawn. So much fun.

Can't believe this is really happening!

MAY 8th, 2011

We broke the news to our families today. Everyone is really excited for us. I don't think anyone was expecting it, either. It's nice to finally be able to talk about it with people! I am hoping Josh will be okay with me telling friends and everyone else soon, too. Just ready to have it out there.

The nausea seems to be pretty much gone now. Yay! I'm still pretty tired, but even that seems to be curbing a little bit. Hopefully I'll be able to start drinking my Diet Coke again soon. :) My belly is still mostly just looking like I ate too much, but it's definitely pooching out more. It will be nice to get a little bit further along and feeling better. The middle part of pregnancy is always the best!

.:Tired Babe:.

Remi was a bit tired after staying up late the nite before. She ended up taking a four hour nap after this video was taken. So cute!

.:From the mouth of Reece:.

Recently heard from Reece:

Me: "You're so cute."
Reece: "Reece is cute?"
Me: "Yes."
Reece: "Remi is cute?"
Me: "Yes."
Reece: "Daddy is cute?"
Me: "Yes."
Reece: "Jesus is cute?"

She saw the vacuum in our closet and said, "That's not Mommy's vacuum. That's Daddy's vacuum." Yep, Josh does all the vacuuming around here, and it has not been lost on Reece!

When Reece doesn't want to do something, she states what it is and then puts 'not' at the end of the sentence. For example: "I want to go to bed, not." "I want to take a nap, not." "I want to eat dinner, not." It cracks me up!

I call Remi, 'Rem' a lot of the time. Reece has taken to calling her 'Rem' as well. Love it! She'll often say, "I want to see my Rem."

I also call both of them 'sweetheart' frequently. Now Reece calls Remi 'sweetheart.' It melts my heart!

She's such a silly girl!

.:Remi's Rainbow Party:.

Our sweet little Rem turned one last weekend, and we threw her a cute little rainbow party. It was the perfect time of year to gather ideas, with it being spring and St. Patrick's Day, so I didn't even have to think - just copy!

I made these cute rainbow cupcakes.

And Remi got a double rainbow cake.

We had a fruit rainbow.

There was also rainbow jello and rainbow fruity pebbles treats.

I made a fun little birthday banner using felt circles sewn together, tissue paper flowers, and some pictures in a timeline.

I made little party favors for the kids using rainbow Twizzlers that had facts about Remi attached to them.

I had also seen peeps rainbow pops at the store, and while the peeps have no significance related to rainbows, I liked the colors!

Remi had to have a little birthday outfit, so I made her a rainbow shirt with a matching headband and bootie bloomers. She looked absolutely adorable, don't you think?

We ate dinner first, and then it was time for presents.

Lots of presents.

Remi enjoyed taking the tissue paper out of the bags, and we are still enjoying all of her wonderful gifts.

Spoiled much!

I was worried that Remi wouldn't get in to her cake very much; Reece was super shy at her first birthday, but I should have known better.

Girlfriend loves food, and her cake was no exception!

I think she liked it.

Reece had a fun time playing with her friends and cousins.

We were so blessed to have so many friends and family come to help us celebrate this precious little girl! It was a great time!

.:Remi - Twelve Months - 1 Year:.

It's official! We have another toddler! Although there is no 'toddling' going on around these parts quite yet!

This past year feels like a blur, but at the same time, I find myself in disbelief that it's only been a year. I can't really remember very well our family without Remi a part of it!

To celebrate turning one, Remi came down with a lovely cold on the day of her party. I was worried this was going to throw her way off for the festivities, but she was a champ and stayed super happy all day long.

As I said before, there is no 'toddling' happening over here. Remi is turning into quite the speed crawler, though. I love watching her get excited and go so fast. She also loves to pull up to anything and everything! Now that she's got that figured out, she is always standing. I think she is loving the new freedom that she gets from being able to explore more things. We try to get her to walk, holding our hands, but she just locks her knees and does a very Frankenstein-esque walk. She is starting to figure out how to cruise a little bit, so I think once she gets more proficient in that, she'll be more comfortable trying to walk with our help. I'd just like her to be walking by the summer so I don't have to deal with messy crawling knees all summer long! We'll see what happens!

Remi and Reece are just turning into the best of buddies. Remi happily follows Reece around the house, and they play with toys together. It really is so sweet, and I just hope they are always friends. They crack me up in the car a lot of the time; one of them will start giggling, which gets the other one going, and then it's all over from there! They try to out-do each other with how loud they can be, and it's just hilarious.

Remi is an absolute super star when it comes to eating! This gal will eat just about anything you put in front of her. She really enjoys her food and feeding herself. She just eats whatever we are eating, and it's the best! Remi is also now taking a sippy cup! She just decided one day that she was going to do it, and now she does. I am so grateful that being persistent with it paid off, I was getting a little worried. She has started to love apple juice. I don't want her to only want juice, so I try to water it down pretty well. I don't mind her drinking juice, but I've got to get her drinking more milk! We've been giving her some whole milk since we've been down to just nursing in the morning and the evening. She will drink a little bit, but doesn't drink a lot at one time. I think that will probably change once we start dropping those last two nursing feedings. I'll be dropping the morning one this week, and then hopefully the evening one next week. I'm sure she'll transition over easily!

Remi still only has eight teeth. Her two eye teeth have been right close to the surface for over a month now, but still haven't broken through. Her hands have been in her mouth constantly lately, and drool is abundant these days, so I'm pretty sure either those are going to finally come in, or maybe she's working on some molars or something.

Remi still doesn't say anything resembling a word. She squeals and sighs a lot, and the closest thing to a word is saying, "Mmmmmm" when she's eating something yummy. She doesn't even really do consonant sounds. I'm not sure if I should be worried or not, but I'll bring it up at her one year checkup. She has learned the sign for "all done" and is starting to understand the sign for "more". It's so cute when she does "all done" - she just raises her hands up in the hair and flicks her wrists down. I love it!

Remi is also down to one nap a day on most day. She was taking awesome morning naps, but then really struggling to take a good afternoon nap. So I decided to try out having her on one nap, and so far, it's gone pretty well! I love having my mornings free again!

Remi is just such a joy and blessing in our family. She has such a sweet spirit, and I love her fiery red hair. She loves to make cheeseball faces at us, and I don't think it will ever get old! I'm so grateful we were blessed with this beautiful babe!

At one year old, Remi likes:

- eating: mandarin oranges, bread, raisins, yogurt melts, strawberries, green beans
- smiling
- laughing
- being cheesey!
- brushing her teeth
- standing and pulling up to things
- crawling
- squealing
- peek-a-boo
- apple juice
- having back/neck tickled
- being sung to
- light up seahorse
- balls
- pulling down dish towels and dvd's
- throwing things on wood floor to hear sounds
- throwing/dropping things
- Reece!
- looking at herself in the mirror
- balloons
- clapping

At one year, Remi does not like:

- diaper changes (they are like having a wrestling match!)
- getting face/nose wiped
- being left alone

Happy Birthday sweet baby girl!
